About this event
The exhibition Annantalo Art Saturday: Beneath the Waves takes place on Saturday, 7 November 2026 at Annantalo Arts Centre, Helsinki. You can go for free.
Annantalo Art Saturdays allow the whole family to spend time together enjoying art in open workshops – pop by briefly or stay for a longer visit.
In a swaying kelp forest, you might spot a grunt sculpin, a swell shark, a sea lion and a sea otter. During this Annantalo Art Saturday, you get to know the inhabitants of kelp forests and create your own little slice of the blue sea and its creatures for a joint artwork. We work with tissue paper, glue and cardboard.
Beneath the Waves is one of the workshops linked to the jointly created ‘Spectrum’ artwork

In autumn 2026, Annantalo’s workshops and art groups will create a collaborative light art installation entitled Spectrum. This workshop is one of many in which different parts of the work are created. Come and make your contribution to the window installations to be displayed on the Annankatu side, glowing in the different colours of the spectrum.
The opening ceremony for the Spectrum light installation will be held on 9 December at 18.00, illuminating the windows of Annantalo in a blaze of colour. Come and join us in building our shared spectrum!
