Aunque su exterior de piedra parece sobrio, es una visita imprescindible en el casco histórico por tres grandes razones:
El Retablo Mayor: Un espectacular y gigantesco retablo del siglo XVI tallado en madera, pero completamente sin pintar ni dorar. Ver la madera desnuda permite apreciar un nivel de detalle y realismo anatómico que el oro habría ocultado.
Las mejores vistas de la ciudad: Subir a su torre campanario es obligatorio. Desde arriba tienes la panorámica perfecta y más fotografiada de los tejados, palacios y torres medievales de Cáceres.
