A Liliana Rivera Garza la mató su exnovio el 16 de julio de 1990. El asesino huyó y hasta hoy no ha sido atrapado. Liliana sería una más de esas víctimas anónimas asesinadas en México por hombres si no fuera por su hermana, la escritora Cristina Rivera Garza que, treinta años después de la muerte, encontró las fuerzas suficientes para revisar los archivos y documentos que dejó Liliana. Esta obra, como el libro que la inspira, reconstruye el pasado íntimo y público de Liliana Rivera Garza a través de sus propias palabras, sus pensamientos y dudas escritas en anotaciones, frases y diarios recopilados por su hermana.
