About this event
The exhibition Hanna Rinne: Entities – Beings in Between (art exhibition) is on now at Entresse Library, Espoo and runs until Friday, 27 November 2026. It's free to attend.
In the works on display, playfulness and vibrancy go hand in hand with a subtle sense of melancholy and strangeness.
Hanna Rinne (b. 1980) is a visual artist and graphic designer from Kirkkonummi. Her artistic practice lies at the intersection of pop surrealism and experimental contemporary art.
"I have always been fascinated by what happens when the cute and the strange collide. In my works, playfulness and colourfulness go hand in hand with subtle melancholy and strangeness.

The characters – or entities – that appear in my works represent forms of life that do not fit into traditional categories: they are not plants, animals, nor even entirely bacteria. They are something in between and all of these things at once. You may recognise something familiar in the figures, such as the shape of a berry, the surface of a mollusc or the structure of a cell, but you cannot name them with certainty.
The aim of my art is to spark curiosity and invite the viewer, for a moment, into a world where every being has its own story to tell."
