Live at Komünite in Istanbul: İsaiah Collier

Isaiah Collier | Concert A multifaceted talent from the Chicago scene—composer, activist, curator, and saxophone virtuoso—Isaiah Collier joins Komünite on November 19 at 9:30 PM with his project “Collier Plays Coltrane.” In addition to his own projects, Collier has made a name for himself through collaborations with artists such as Angel Bat Dawid, Chance the Rapper, and Wadada Leo Smith III, combining the rich tradition of jazz with a futuristic vision. His latest work, Cosmic Transitions, received five stars from DownBeat and was named “Album of the Year” by numerous outlets. For Collier, music is not simply a performance, but a spiritual threshold. Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder’s legendary studio on John Coltrane’s birthday, using the analog equipment employed for the recording of A Love Supreme, this special suite pays tribute to the legacy of jazz while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of the music forward. Don’t miss this high-energy and deeply immersive performance, where traditional sounds meet a modern form of expression.
