About this event
Margaret Atwood: From the Handmaid's Tale to the Testaments is scheduled for Tuesday, 17 November 2026 at Opistotalo main building, The Finnish Adult Education Centre, Helsinki. You can go for free.
Why is Handmaid's Tale so popular? We'll explore this and other questions to do with Atwood's world.
Margaret Atwood, a firebrand for truth, wrote the Handmaid's Tale decades before it became a global hit on TV-screens. This then led her to write a sequel, The Testaments, which is also now available for streaming. What makes these dystopias so popular? We'll explore these and other questions, also in the light of her latest book, a memoir of sorts, published last year.
Maksuton englanninkielinen yleisluento, ei ennakkoilmoittautumista. Paikkoja rajoitetusti.
Opistotalon korjaustyöt saattavat aiheuttaa häiriötä opetukseen.
