About this event
On Tuesday, 26 January 2027, My Garden is Filled with Fragments comes to Ritarihuone in Helsinki. The line-up includes Helsingin Kamarikuoro.
My Garden is Filled with Fragments Helsinki Chamber Choir NeoQuartet (Poland) Nils Schweckendiek, conductor GALINA GRIGORJEVA Salve Regina ANNA HUUSKONEN Puut, tähdet Finland premiere SEBASTIAN HILLI new work, Finland premiere JUSTE JANULYTE Plonge Sebastian Hilli has established himself as one of the leading composers of his generation. In his new work written in collaboration with the philosopher Mattias Lehtinen, he asks whether boundless hubris threatens the future of democracy. The work engages in dialogue with classics that explore hubris, such as Sophocles' Antigone, William Shakespeare's King Lear, and Thomas Mann's Doktor Faustus. The programme also includes a new commission from Anna Huuskonen. In selecting both Swedish and Finnish texts for Puut, tähdet (The Trees, the Stars), Huuskonen brings together two important strands of contemporary Finnish society. Galina Grigorjeva's Salve Regina provides a spiritual angle. The Helsinki Chamber Choir is thrilled to continue its collaboration with the renowned Polish ensemble, NeoQuartet. The historic building of the House of Nobility does not fully meet today's accessibility standards.
