About this event
Mark Thursday, 26 November 2026 in your diary: Northside Musicians Choir w/ Ruby Gill, at The Thornbury Theatre.
Award-winning musician Ruby Gill will be joined by the 100-strong Northside Musicians Choir to sing all her best songs in brilliant choral glory at the Thornbury Theatre this Nov 26. With a support-set of choir-only classics, and then a joint set of Ruby's quintessential live power backed by the community of singers, this is a one-night-only songwriting and vocal experience not to be missed. Come for Ruby's lyricism, dry wit and gut-wrenching honesty, and stay for the wall of harmonies, intricate arrangements and a celebration of inner-north Melbourne's very best voices all together on one stage.

More about Ruby Gill: If anyone can silence a room, it’s Joburg-born, Australia-based musician Ruby Gill, whose arresting lyricism, honesty and deadpan wit have already garnered millions of streams, awards and radio play from triple j, to BBC and KCRW. Fresh off the back of sold-out tours in Australia, South Africa and the UK/EU, the award-winning artist’s “lyrical wizardry” has earned the reputation of unmissable, with her 2025 Australian Music Prize-shortlisted sophomore record ‘Some Kind Of Control’ debuting on the Australian ARIA charts at #5 and winning Best Independent Country Album at the AIR Awards. Her new record is out 16 Oct.
More about Northside Musicians Choir: NMC offers a rare environment where artistic excellence and community participation are equally valued. Designed for singers with previous musical experience, the choir develops vocal technique, music literacy, ensemble skills and performance confidence through ambitious repertoire and collaborations with leading Victorian artists. It's really good.
