The Christmas season traditionally begins in Helsinki with the opening of the Christmas Street.
This year, the parade route has been renewed and will start from Kansalaistori Square by Oodi Central Library. The procession will set off at 16.00 along Mannerheimintie, turn onto Pohjoisesplanadi at the corner of Stockmann, continue to Unioninkatu, and then to Aleksanterinkatu.
After that, the parade will proceed along Mannerheimintie and finish at Narinkkatori Square.
The Helsinki Christmas Opening Parade features numerous cheerful characters, animals, and dance groups.
