A fantastic double bill featuring two of the most innovative and most distinctive groups in UK creative music. Both have been touring debut albums this year and feature superb line-ups of heavy weight improvisers, in ensembles of extreme flexibility, musical courage and the widest of emotional palettes. Both books of music combine powerful freedom and exploration with memorable melodies, driving swing and emotional intensity and this evening's gig will feature some collaborative pieces mixing both ensembles. Not to be missed!

Olie Brice is a British double bassist, improviser and composer. He is bandleader of the Olie Brice Quintet, the Olie Brice Trio, and the Olie Brice Octet. Brice has been a member of the Nick Malcolm Quartet, Mike Fletcher Trio, Alex Ward Quintet, Paul Dunmall Brass Project, Loz Speyer's Inner Space, as well as collaborated with Dee Byrne, Tobias Delius, and Binker Golding.
