The Tunegirl Live Schon als Kind träumte TuneGirl davon, Musik zu machen. Sie begann als Gitarristin in Schulbands, spielte Hard Rock und später eigene Songs, und entdeckte in den 80ern Funk, Soul und Synthie-Pop. Als DJane in einer kleinen Disco lernte sie erstmals Synthesizer kennen und entwickelte ihre Liebe zu elektronischen Sounds. In den 90ern stieß sie auf Techno-Künstler*innen wie Jeff Mills, Robert Hood und Richie Hawtin. Inspiriert von minimalistischen Drum-Machine-Sounds und neuartigen Rhythmen baute sie ihr erstes elektronisches Setup auf. 1999 legte sie eine lange Pause ein, bevor sie 2009 wieder mit Computern und Software experimentierte, jedoch schnell merkte, dass Jammen mit Hardware ihr wahres Element ist. Schließlich entdeckte sie Eurorack-Systeme und modulare Synthesizer -- nach intensiver Einarbeitung und viel Lehrgeld fand sie darin ihr ideales Instrument. Heute steht TuneGirl für kompromisslosen, improvisierten Techno zwischen Detroit, Acid und Minimal, live gespielt direkt aus dem Modularsystem.
