Mystery Ensemble about the programme:
“On this beautiful evening, you will feel like the heroes of Tolkien’s fantastic universe, where elves, orcs, hobbits, and dwarves live! Imagine: a chamber hall, the authentic sound of motifs from the soundtracks… Fabulous, isn’t it? There are rumours that various film composers, having heard The Lord of the Rings in our performance, strenuously began composing soundtracks for other films – hoping that someday we will also perform them! We decided that we would think about it.
Duration: 60 minutes (doors open 30 minutes prior; late entry is not permitted).
Doors open at least 30 minutes before the concert.
Out of respect for guests and performers, late entry may not be permitted. We cannot guarantee your original seats after the concert begins.

About venue
St Mary’s Church, Nottingham, is the city’s largest and most impressive medieval church, standing proudly in the historic Lace Market district. Dating primarily from the 14th and 15th centuries, the building is a fine example of English Gothic architecture, with its commanding tower and elegant stonework forming one of Nottingham’s most recognisable landmarks.
Inside, the church reveals a vast and luminous interior, where soaring arches, intricate tracery, and richly coloured stained-glass windows create an atmosphere of grandeur and serenity. The spacious nave and beautifully crafted details offer a setting that feels both monumental and welcoming, steeped in centuries of history. Renowned for its exceptional acoustics, St Mary’s provides a remarkable environment for concerts, choral works, orchestral performances, and candlelit events. The generous proportions of the space allow sound to resonate with clarity and depth, enhancing both vocal and instrumental music.
Located in the cultural heart of Nottingham, St Mary’s Church offers a venue where history, architecture, and live performance come together — a timeless setting for unforgettable musical experiences.
