Paris-1942 : décret de l'étoile jaune pour les juifs. Joseph Haffmann propose à son employé Pierre Vigneau de lui confier sa bijouterie en attendant que la situation s'améliore. Pierre accepte…Sachant qu'il doit également prendre le risque d'héberger clandestinement son “ancien” patron dans les murs de la boutique, Pierre finit par accepter le marché de Joseph à condition que celui-ci accepte le sien : Isabelle et moi voulons à tout prix avoir un enfant. Après plusieurs tentatives infructueuses, nous avons fait des examens… je suis stérile. Monsieur Haffmann, j'aimerais que vous ayez des rapports sexuels avec ma femme le temps qu'elle tombe enceinte…
