Ce ciné-spectacle invite les spectateurs aux frissons, en leur faisant redécouvrir le thème de prédilection des images lumineuses : la fantasmagorie.
Avec des cornes, des grandes dents, des poils, des tentacules ou des nez crochus…, diables, fantômes et sorcières se multiplient sur l'écran. Aux images peintes il y a plus de 100 ans, s'entremêlent celles des premiers films muets…. et c'est une seule et même histoire qui nous est racontée. Celle où les colporteurs qui officiaient dans les fêtes foraines avaient compris combien l'image lumineuse - fixe ou animée - ouvrait les champs de l'imaginaire. Celle où la lanterne magique était surnommée « la lanterne de peur ». Celle où ses spectacles offraient au public l'illusion d'un monde fantastique, capable de bousculer le réel.
