Nuno Coelho, conductor Luka Coetzee, cello Program: Ana Sokolovic: Ringelspiel (Merry-Go-Round) Saint-Saëns: Cello Concerto No. 1 Dvorák: Symphony No. 6 Canadian Luka Coetzee brings youthful fire to Saint-Saëns's Cello Concerto No. 1, a work of bold lyricism and dazzling invention. Ana Sokolovic's Ringelspiel whirls with playful motion, like a musical carousel suddenly set spinning, and Dvorák's Symphony No. 6 closes the program with lilting dance rhythms and a jubilant finale.

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) is a Canadian orchestra based in Toronto, Ontario. Founded in 1906, the TSO gave regular concerts at Massey Hall until 1982, and since then has performed at Roy Thomson Hall. The TSO also manages the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra (TSYO). Peter Oundjian was the music director from 2004 to 2018. Sir Andrew Davis, conductor laureate of the TSO, was the orchestra's interim artistic director from 2018 to 2020.
