Schumann: Violin Concerto Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 3 "Scottish" Spotlight Artist Renaud Capuçon plays and conducts a program that begins with the luminous colours of Charlotte Sohy's rarely heard Thème varié, followed by Robert Schumann's soulful, long-hidden Violin Concerto brought to life by one of today's great violinists. Mendelssohn's "Scottish" Symphony, inspired by the composer's travels, crowns the concert with its restless energy and stormy drama.

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) is a Canadian orchestra based in Toronto, Ontario. Founded in 1906, the TSO gave regular concerts at Massey Hall until 1982, and since then has performed at Roy Thomson Hall. The TSO also manages the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra (TSYO). Peter Oundjian was the music director from 2004 to 2018. Sir Andrew Davis, conductor laureate of the TSO, was the orchestra's interim artistic director from 2018 to 2020.
