Kyösti Mäkimattila is one of Finland’s leading schlager singers and songwriters, as well as an author and poet. He came to the attention of the whole nation through the singing competition at the Seinäjoen Tangomarkkinat festival, where he was crowned Tango King in 2013. He is well known for his work with the bands The Cruels and Varjokuva.

In January 2025, Kyösti embarked on an in-depth exploration of the finer points of Finnish dance venue culture with the new Ajaton sointu band.
A traditional dance band is taking shape, drawing on the charm of days gone by and relying on acoustic instruments, and Kyösti is developing a new, varied repertoire with the group. The agenda includes thoughtful and even more in-depth engagement, combining the new and the old, as well as a curious interaction with the entire field.
Duration: 2 h, incl. intermission
