The event requires a ticket that is available free of charge. Tickets will become available on Monday 17 August via this link, and at the service desk of Maunula Library. A small number of tickets are also set aside to be available at the door on the day of the event, and you can enquire about them at the venue half an hour before the event starts.

Qumma Connection

Qumma is a veteran musician and visual artist who plays the Chapman Stick and the Warr guitar, both of which are relatively rare instruments. He was previously a member of bands such as Paha Kurki, Faunin Iltapäivä and Kärpästen Herra, until visual art drew him into his own universe for several years.

However, Qumma’s musical demons would not leave him alone, as new songs began to take shape in the back of his mind, and eventually Qumma set out to assemble a band from familiar and well-known musicians who had impressed him over the years. The end result was Qumma Connection, a band that was intended to exclusively be a studio project and whose line-up could vary freely.

The band's debut album, Arabesque, was released in 2008 and was well received by prog lovers around the world. To date, four Qumma Connection albums have been released, as well as two ‘solo’ albums under the name Qumma.

Following their latest album, Marginal Music From Behind The Black Mirror (2024), the group began to feel that the time had finally come to let Qumma Connection loose on stage as well to perform both new and older tracks live.
